Narayanan Krishnamurthi, MS, PhD

Physiological Data Scientist

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago

Narayanan Krishnamurthi, PhD, is a Physiological Data Scientist at the Center for Autonomic Medicine in Pediatrics and the Techquity Health Lab at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. He received his PhD in Biomedical Signal Analysis from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and has over two decades of experience applying advanced quantitative and computational methods to complex physiological and clinical datasets. His expertise includes biomedical and physiological time-series analysis, statistical modeling, machine learning, and multimodal data integration, with extensive experience leveraging high-performance computing environments using MATLAB and R.

Dr. Krishnamurthi’s research focuses on identifying quantitative biomarkers and physiologic signatures across pediatric and adult populations, with particular emphasis on rare autonomic and respiratory disorders, neonatal physiology, and longitudinal monitoring using wearable and bedside sensors. More recently, his work has expanded to examine the influence of clinical, health-care utilization, and demographic factors on ambulatory glucose profiles derived from continuous glucose monitoring data. He has served as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on multiple NIH- and FDA-funded studies and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications spanning pediatrics, physiology, biomedical engineering, and neurorehabilitation. In addition, he has a strong record of mentoring trainees and collaborating within multidisciplinary clinical and engineering teams to translate data-driven insights into clinically meaningful outcomes.
